Warner Brothers' attempt to provide copies of old movies from their archives to fans and collectors. Warners state that each release " This film has been manufactured from the best-quality video master currently available and has not been remastered or restored specifically for this DVD and Digital Download release " Okay for most fans, but why the big price tag of $19.95? Also, DVDs from the WB Archive series are only available through the WBShop online therefore no competition on price on Amazon. WB only ship to US addresses and are the DVDs are strictly copy-protected meaning that they do not play in many DVD recorders and computers. Therefore, while it is a welcome addition for many collectors (in the USA) it leaves a lot to be desired. Collectors outside the USA will still need to source copies from other collectors such as rarephiled.com |
